Our Service
We provide advisory services to help you find insurance solutions tailored to your needs. Where we arrange insurance without providing a recommendation, we will confirm this in writing. Please note we do not act as insurers, nor can we guarantee the financial security of any provider.
Personal Insurance
We offer private medical insurance from a panel of insurers. Prior to finalising any policy, we will inform you of the insurers we work with. If we only use a limited panel, we will disclose this upon request.
Commercial Insurance
Our commercial insurance offerings also include products from a selection of insurance providers. As with personal insurance, we will supply further information before finalising arrangements and can provide a list of our partner insurers on request.
The Capacity in Which We Operate
In delivering our services, we may act on behalf of either you or the insurer. We will clarify our role before proceeding with any insurance transaction.
Complaints and Compensation
We aim to deliver high standards of service. However, if you are dissatisfied, please contact us at: Elective Health, Unit B8, 9 Nimrod Way, Ferndown, Wimborne, BH21 7UH. We follow a formal complaints procedure, available upon request. If you remain unsatisfied after our response, you may refer the issue to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Elective Health is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). You may be eligible for compensation if we are unable to meet our responsibilities. The level of compensation depends on the nature of your policy: For insurance advice and arrangement: 90% of the claim (no upper limit), For compulsory insurance (e.g., Employer's Liability): 100% of the claim. For more details, visit www.fscs.org.uk or call 0800 678 1100.
Conflict of Interest
Conflicts can occasionally arise between our firm, affiliated companies, or other clients. Should any conflict become apparent, we will notify you and explain how we intend to proceed in a fair and transparent manner.
Payment for Our Services
We receive commission from insurers for placing your business with them. Before concluding or renewing any insurance policy, we will notify you of your right to request information about the commission received. You will be provided with a full breakdown of the total premium, including any applicable fees or taxes, prior to placing the insurance. All payments are due in full before coverage begins unless agreed otherwise. Please refer to the section titled Ending Your Relationship With Us for further details.
Handling Money
We do not directly handle client funds for this product. All premium payments are managed by the insurers directly.
Cancelling Your Policy
To cancel your policy, a written request is required. Any relevant insurance documents or certificates must also be returned. Depending on your policy terms, the insurer may either retain the full premium or issue a refund on a short-term basis.
Ending Your Relationship With Us
You may terminate our relationship at any time by providing written notice, provided all outstanding payments have been settled. We will not charge a cancellation fee. In cases where we choose to terminate our services, you will receive at least 14 days' notice. Any existing transactions will be completed according to these terms. We retain the right to any commission earned and fees charged for services provided up to the point of termination.
Your Responsibilities
It is your responsibility to provide complete and accurate information when applying for insurance. This duty applies at the outset, during the term, and upon renewal. Failure to disclose material facts may result in your policy being invalid or claims being rejected. You must review all insurance documents carefully and ensure the cover meets your expectations, paying particular attention to warranties and conditions. Any changes in your circumstances that could affect your cover should be reported to us immediately.
